The BSA Ready & Prepared Award
was developed to encourage and reward Boy Scout troops, Varsity Scout teams, and Venturing crews that incorporate safe practices while enjoying challenging activities. The award acknowledges the common sense and judgment, founded on knowledge and training, used to incorporate risk management into a unit's decision-making process. It recognizes that the more responsibility individual members take for their personal health and safety, the more everyone contributes to a successful activity.

LIFESAVING OR MERITORIOUS ACTION AWARDS
Recognition may be given to a member of the Boy Scouts of America when he or she saved or attempted to save life under circumstances that indicate heroism and risk of his or her own life.

RELIGIOUS EMBLEM AWARD PROGRAM
A Scout is reverent. He is reverent toward God. He is faithful in his religious duties and respects the convictions of others in matters of custom and religion.
To encourage members to grow stronger in their faith, religious groups have developed the following religious emblems programs. The Boy Scouts of America has approved of these programs and allows the emblems to be worn on the official uniform. The various religious groups administer the programs. Check with your local council service center or contact the religious organization directly to obtain the curriculum booklets.

The Boy Scouts of America's Crime Prevention Program assists neighborhoods and communities in their efforts to prevent crime. Working with Families and Neighborhoods and communities, youth learn how to help make their world a place safe from crime.

THE TEXAS BADGE
The Texas Badge is earned by Cub Scouts and Webelos by learning about Texas. Among the requirements is learning the Texas Pledge and the song Texas Our Texas, learning about Texas Symbols,  and reading a book about Texas.

THE YOUNG AMERICAN AWARD
First presented in 1968, the award is given to young adults between the ages of 15 and 25 who have achieved excellence in the fields of art, athletics, business, community service, education, government,

U.S. ARMY YOUTH CERTIFICATE OF RECOGNITION
The U.S. Army Recruiting Command (USAREC) is proud to support Scouting in America through the U.S. Army Youth Certificate of Recognition Program. Scouts who achieve the rank of Eagle are entitled to receive this award at their Court of Honor ceremony. The certificate bears the signature of the Army's Chief of Staff, the most senior four-star general in the U.S. Army. All requests for Youth Certificates of Recognition must be made in writing. VENTURING LEADERSHIP AWARD
The Venturing Leadership Award is presented by councils, areas/regions, and the BSA National Council to Venturers and adults who have made exceptional contributions to Venturing and who exemplify the Venturing Code.
Venturing Leadership Award candidates must be registered and involved in Venturing as a Venturer or an adult for at least one year. They must hold a leadership position or office on the unit, district, council, area, region, or national level (as appropriate for the level of award presented). The candidate must show exceptional dedication and give outstanding leadership and service to Venturing and to Venturers on the level appropriate for the award.

INTERPRETER STRIPS
Youth and Adult members (Cub and Webelos Scouts, Boy and Varsity Scouts, and 
Venturers and  Sea Scouts, plus Scouters in all programs)  may wear this strip if they show their knowledge of a foreign language or the sign language for the hearing impaired. Many languages and  American Sign Language interpreter strips are available.
Qualifications

DEN CHIEF SERVICE AWARD
After serving as a Den Chief for a year and fulfilling a number of requirements including training, setting an example and participation, a Scout may earn this award and wear a special set of Den Chief Cords. Requirements.

NATIONAL HONOR PATROL AWARD
The Award is a small yellow star on a khaki green background. It is designed to be worn in one place: around the Patrol medallion. The location - top, bottom, side - does not matter as long as it is attached to go around the Patrol emblem. Once earned, as long as the person is a MEMBER OF THAT PATROL, it is worn continuously. When a member changes Patrols, he removes the Patrol medallion AND the Star(s).

The requirements have only been modified to reflect the program changes within the Boy Scout Division over the years. Only Boy Scouts and Varsity Scouts may earn the Award.
