Texas Fresh Water Fisheries Center   5550 F.M. 2495  Athens, TX  903 676-2277 http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/fish/infish/hatchery/tffc/index.htm
The Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center houses a hatchery, laboratory, aquarium, &  educational center focusing on underwater wildlife in the state's freshwater streams, ponds, and lakes.
General activities available to the visitor are the interactive dive show, fishing, Wetlands Trail tour, Picnic areas, Tram ride and Aquariums. 
Check the facility calendar for special events including Fly-fish each spring and National Fishing Day.  Both Hunter's Education and Boater Education classes are scheduled at the Center on a regular basis.                                                                                                                                   The Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center is open Tuesday through Saturday from 9 am to 4 pm and Sundays 1 pm to 4 pm. We are closed on Mondays, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Day, and Easter.                                                                                 
Youth Group Rate - a $2.50-per-person rate is available year round to youth groups of 10 or more with reservations.   BOY SCOUT TROOPS: Call the Hatchery to schedule a Fishing Merit Badge workshop for your Troop! Dates available on a limited basis and must be scheduled in advance!
